Comments Off on Every once in a while the chicken tractor path’s cross and they run side by side for a ways. I figure they use the time to catch up on current events and gossip. Meanwhile, tractor 1 in the far background is empty as of this morning. Those fellows all “went to freeze camp”. 🤣 Progress!
Comments Off on Loading up one of the aquaponics beds with basil, cilantro and celery. What’s aquaponics? It’s hydroponics (growing plants in water), but instead of adding liquid plant nutrients, the water runs through another tank that contains fish. It’s a symbiotic sustainable relationship. The fish output provides the nutrients the plants need, and the plants clean the water for the fish. Works great!

Comments Off on Feeding time! I love watching them waddle/run. Then they stand there and make noise at me, something along the lines of “Hey, you! Throw that food! Now!” 🤣 For info on how to get our non-GMO/non-soy pasture raised fresh eggs, check out our website at www.avalonfarms.us
