Love seeing these guys out in the morning, doing all the chicken things. Compare our pasture raised egg layers with commercial warehouse “never see the sun or dirt” layers. Our eggs are so much better tasting! You’ll never go back!

Previous PostJust installed our first silage tarp in garden 3. It’s a sustainable, non-chemical way to kill existing weeds and pests. In a couple of weeks we’ll roll it back, lightly till the ground to raise up buried weed seeds, then recover. In a month or so we’ll have a nice stale seedbed ready for a cover crop for winter.
Next PostThankful for a cool morning. No rain in sight and a high of 91, but feels wonderful at 67 right now.

Onion time! 2500 onions needed to get out of the field before the rain came (please Lord!) and got them wet. Now off to the drying racks for curing.
